Cause and Solution
When trying to setup the Wishlist membership plugin I created a new account with PayPal and followed the instructions from WishList to a tee. However every time I ran a test PayPal would show all the product details, I would login to PayPal as a different member to pay for the subscription and then receive the above error. I submitted a ticket to Wishlist with them send me the instructions again and telling me to follow it exactly. So of I go and do it all again and I watch their video to make sure I’m really doing it right and the end result is the same error in PayPal. So I do some Googling and what pops up all the time is that it has to do with my PayPal merchant email address. So I check and it’s right however I see
So I hit [Confirm] and go to my email etc and confirm my email and all is good with this part. However on return to my site the I don’t get returned to the Thank you page as expected however the new member has been created in WishList but with a comment “Incomplete Registration”. Will need to sort this out now, however I’m close.
OK the problem was that the return URL in PayPal was: http://wolfs-z.com…/thankyou however in WordPress I had http://wolfs-z.com…/thank-you. So new members are automatically been confirmed now after payment and entering their username etc.
