Again good news about Zen-Cart

by Wolf on July 19, 2010

A few days ago I decided that I would setup direct credit card processing on one of my sites. I signed up with eway todo my C/C processing. I must say that the process with eway despite all their hype of how easy it is to get this going. The sales people are fast at promising but then you find out that things are not that straight forward, eg I asked if they supported Zen-Cart and was told that there was a module available from the Zen-Cart site and it worked well.

When I then installed it I found that the module only is setup to work via your own SSL cert and not via the eway hosted page as I had planned to use.

Anyhow I though maybe this is somewhat better anyway so of I went and bought a SSL cert and thanks to the great help of my host, Brad from Xyzulo this was painless and once this was done it was time to get Zen-Cart configured.

I was preparing myself to do a fair bit of coding to ensure that all calls to any pages involved with the checkout procedure, however there is where the goods news was that I found a switch in the Zen-Cart configuration to switch to https for the checkout procedure and I was done within minutes.

Once all this was in place then the integration with eway was indeed easy. As a side line also the SSL cert I bought from Brad cost me $44.00 including install and the cheapest one on eway was $139.00 on their super special pricing.
