Zen-Cart Shopping Cart Bug

by Wolf on August 4, 2010

I’ve had a few problems with the shopping cart because I’m trying to remove as much clutter as possible and after a lot of testing it seems that you have to keep of of the options for product display switched on other wise one can no longer add more then one product to the shopping cart.

The configuration in question is

admin > config > stock

Show New Products on empty Shopping Cart Page
Show Featured Products on empty Shopping Cart Page
Show Special Products on empty Shopping Cart Page
Show Upcoming Products on empty Shopping Page
Show Notice of Combining Shopping Cart on Login

If you set all these to ’0′ then the above happens, at least for me. So I’ve set all to zero bar Show new products.

Hi

This is not the default behavior of Zen Cart. You should be able to set all the above to false and it will not affect the ability to add items to the shopping cart.

Do you have any add-ons that may be affecting the shopping cart? Or do you have the max qty of the item set to 1?

You can always test out how a default installation of Zen Cart operates by using the official demo install at http://zen-cart.net/demo. Admin username: demo Password: demo.

Hope this helps. Good luck with your Zen Cart ventures!

Cheers
